Our Story

I

I was born and raised in a small town in Nebraska, where life is simple and hard work is a way of life.

Most of my professional life was spent in retail clothing management—traveling, training managers, opening new stores, and my favorite part: merchandising. I worked for companies in Nebraska, Wyoming, Michigan, and eventually Colorado. After stepping away from the corporate world to raise my children, I stayed active by diving into direct selling businesses. My passion for connecting with others and empowering women has always been at the heart of everything I do.

Then one day, I decided to chase a dream of my own: opening a boutique.

I sketched out a concept, researched interior design ideas, purchased racks, merchandise, a computer system, and even installed security cameras. Everything was falling into place—except one big piece: the storefront. Negotiating a lease with property managers proved tougher than I expected. They loved my idea, respected my experience, and admired my enthusiasm… but they also wanted a large guarantor to back me financially.

I was crushed.
I gave up.

But not for long.

Sensing my disappointment, my husband looked at me and said, “Let’s take your boutique on the road.”

And that was it. With his support and my vision, we built a dream boutique inside a 7’x16’ cargo trailer—and in May of 2017, Street Savvy Mobile Boutique was born.

At first, not being able to open a traditional storefront felt like a setback. But looking back now, it turned out to be a blessing. A year after launching Street Savvy, my husband’s job took us to Arizona. Thankfully, moving my boutique was as simple as hitching it to a truck and driving it 760 miles to our new home.

When we open, it’s typically for just a few hours at a time. You’ll find us at special events, markets, home shopping parties, and more. We’d love to be part of your next event!
